The Performing Arts Showcase is held daily throughout the Festival at two of Hawaii’s finest shopping centers: the Ala Moana Center and the Royal Hawaiian Center. Featured at these stages are traditional Japanese performances from all over Japan, as well as local cultural performance groups from Hawaii. Many of the Japanese performances are distinctive to various regions in Japan, depicting local folklore and traditions.
It is a rare opportunity to see these cultural presentations with traditional costumes and instruments performed all on one stage and outside of Japan! Don’t miss your chance to see these very unique and interesting performances and art forms including the popular Japanese Taiko drumming. The traditional cultural acts from Hawaii include various ethnic groups such as Korean, Thai, and Filipino traditional arts groups.
