2007 PAN  PACIFIC FESTIVAL PHOTO CONTEST

The Pan Pacific Festival offers an opportunity for amateur photographers to demonstrate their photographic talent and creativity in the econd annual amateur photo contest.

Each amateur entry will be reviewed and judged by a panel consisting of photographic and design authorities and festival authorities in October 2007. The top 10 will be selected for awards. Award winning photographs may be used in promotional and advertising materials for the 2008 Pan Pacific Festival, including TV commercials, newspaper advertisements, websites, and the official program. Photo entries may be taken using any type of photographic equipment (i.e. 35mm, APS or Digital). However, entries must be on a compact disc (CD) with prints.

How to Enter

Entries are to be submitted in a single envelope. The envelope will include a completed and signed application and a photo entry on CD with a print of the photo. Entries via e-mail will not be considered. Postage must be paid by the sender.

Contestants may begin sending in entries from June 11, 2007 through September 30, 2007.

1.Each contestant may submit one (1) photograph only. It must be submitted both as a photographic print and as a digital image on CD.

2.Prints may be of any film format (35mm, APS, digital, etc.). The maximum size of the print is 4*x 6*. Entries of 35mm and APS format must be digitalized and put on a CD.

3. Each photo must be accompanied by a completed title label stating the photographer's name and the title of the photo in clear legible print. The title label must be securely attached to the back of the print using adhesive tape or other means which will not damage the print.

4. Excluded from participation are: employees of Canon, USA, Inc.; Media Company, Inc.; Royal Hawaiian Advertising ; Pan Pacific Festival advisory committee
members; Kinki Nippon Tourist, Kintetsu International Hawaii Company and any other official organizers, sponsors, judging panel members or administrators of this photo contest.

5. All entries must be photographs taken during the 2007 Pan Pacific Festival (June 8, 9, 10, 2007) and must be an original photograph taken by the contestant. Entries must be submitted on a CD and accompanied by a print.

7.The copyright of the top thirty (30) photographs will be assigned to the Pan Pacific Festival Advisory Committee.

8. The organizers or sponsors' will not be responsible for any claims or complaints from any persons depicted in entered photographs, should these photographs be published or exhibited. Such responsibility will remain with the contestant. If necessary, the organizers may require the contestant concerned to submit a model-release statement before a prize is awarded.

9.While all possible care will be taken in handling all entries, the organizers will not assume any responsibility for loss or damage to the photographs.

10.Failure to comply with any of the preceding rules or conditions stated in the Declaration of Entry on the Application Form will disqualify a contestant regardless of whether the contestant is a winner or otherwise. The organizers will not be responsible for any claims or damages arising from any violation of the rules. Should any rules be violated or if any information on the application form be false,* Pan Pacific Festival Committee reserves the right to take any action deemed necessary including the withdrawal of prizes and-or the public nullification of the result.

11. The decision of the judges will be final.

12. Entries will not be returned to the contestants. Pan Pacific Festival may use any of the award-winning photos to promote the event in the future.

The prize winners will be contacted directly by Pan Pacific Festival Advisory Committee in October 2007.

Prizes will be presented to ten (10) winners. Payment of subsequent taxation of prizes is not the responsibility of the contest organizers.

     Fifth Place: Atlantis Submarine ticket for party of two ($210 value)

     Sixth Place: Alii Kai Dinner Cruise for two ($120.12 value)

     Seventh Place: Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park Gift Certificate for four ($143.96 value)

     Eighth Place: LeSportsac Camera bag ($66) and Lau Yee Chai Restaurant $50 Gift Certificate ($116 value)

     Ninth Place: Odoriko Restaurant Gift Certificate ($100 value)

     Tenth Place: Top of the Waikiki Gift Certificate ($100 value)

The winning photographs will be displayed on the official website of the Pan Pacific Festival.
